your portrait session

my love of portraiture formed after the birth of my first son. tiny toes, first smiles, lost teeth, dirty knees and all. every moment in a child’s life is so fleeting and fun. my goal isn’t just to create lovely portraits of your children but to truly document what it’s like at that time in their life. i started out with a small in home studio, but quickly realized that my true love is natural light photography. not only is the light perfect and natural, but it allows me to follow you around and document the true nature and essence of your child & family.

where do your sessions take place?
i am an on-location photographer. children are more comfortable in environments that are familiar to them – their home, a park, somewhere they can be themselves. your session is a custom experience and can take place at any location of your choice within 10 miles of my location in Eagan, MN. i can and will travel further, just contact me for a quote!

how much is a portrait session?
a session is $95 and covers my time and talent before, during and after your session.  your session includes the photographing of your immediate family.

how soon after the session do we get to see the images?
within two weeks of your session a minimum of 20 online proofs are provided in a password-protected, online portrait gallery which will remain online for 2 weeks.

what kind of products do you offer?
besides loose portraits, gallery wrapped canvases, brag books, digital collections and albums are all offered. contact me for additional information and i will provide you with a full menu of items.

what should we wear? what should my child wear?
i highly recommend that you don’t match. i would rather see you wearing outfits that reflect who YOU are. avoid loud patterns and clashing colors; take a look in the mirror and make sure that your clothes aren’t upstaging you! complimentary color palettes are more refreshing than everyone wearing matching attire and please bear in mind your child’s comfort before selecting an outfit. for a small child or baby a simple light onesie is preferrable.  stay away from low-cut necklines, bare arms, and super-trendy cuts or patterns.  you can also read my  {TIPS}  section for seniors. it has info from which everyone can benefit!!

what if we have a question that is not answered here?
contact me! i have a full portrait menu available for download or mailing and i’d be more than thrilled to discuss any specific needs or questions that you may have.
